EcoAir 107 and 111 Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

EcoAir Air-to-water heat pumps gain energy from the ambient air even when the outdoor temperature drops to -15°C. The energy gained from a low temperature is “pumped“ to a higher temperature (as high as +55°C) and transferred into heating water that can be used for heating a house, domestic hot water or a pool.

Electric energy is consumed only for operation of the heat pump‘s compressor and fan which represents just one third of the energy supplied by the heat pump, the remaining two thirds are gained from the ambient air. This way about two thirds of all the energy needed for heating can be saved.

CTC EcoAir air-to-water heat pumps represent the most frequently sold brand of air-coupled heat pumps on the Swedish market. Their reliability and excellent parameters are proved by many thousands annual installations in the harsh Scandinavian climate.

EcoAir 115 and 120 Air-to-Water Heat Pumps with EVI Compressor

This new line of air-source heat pumps has been developed using the most up-to-date technology with the aim of reaching the best possible parameters. For the best possible exploitation of air energy, they are fitted with a new, extra large evaporator. For a high C.O.P. and effective operation even at very low temperatures, they are equipped with the latest compressors with a revolutionary EVI technology.

Thanks to that, the heat pumps work efficiently to as low outdoor temperature as -20°C, and can supply heating water of up to 64°C.

For air temperature of 2°C and heating water temperature of 35/30°C (feed/return – measured in compliance with EN 14 511) the C.O.P. reaches the value of 4. This is a very high value for an air-source heat pump, and the annual energy consumption of these heat pumps is fully comparable with ground-source heat pumps thanks to their high C.O.P. value.

Of course, all the advantages of an air-source heat pump are maintained, e.g. simple installation without costly ground works.

Like EcoAir 107/111 line, also EcoAir 115/120 heat pumps can communicate with EcoLogic Intelligent Controller that enables comfort control of your heating system and even a cascade of up to 3 heat pumps.

EcoAir 107 and 111 - EcoEl Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

This is a sophisticated system designed for effective use of a heat pump and other renewable energy sources. EcoEl compact indoor unit represents virtually a complete boiler room. Using its intelligent controller, it provides space- and DHW heating, and controls heating of the entire house ensuring the utmost use of the heat pump. That means that this device alone is able to provide for the heat needed for space- and DHW heating using the air-source heat pump and its own electric heating elements. Further heat sources – e.g. solar collectors, a fireplace inset or a wood-fired boiler – can be connected easily.

An integrated heating unit of EcoEl type contains everything needed for a domestic boiler room. Its compact size excels with little heat losses and occupies just a small space. It has been designed for the best use of the heat supplied by the heat pump and for its optimum operation.

The user friendly integrated intelligent regulator with a large display controls space- and DHW heating for the whole house. Both indoor and outdoor sensors as well as communication with the heat pump are used for precise regulation and optimum operation. When needed, electric heating rods are switched on in small steps. Therefore, the highest heating comfort is reached together with energy savings. Of course, also solar collectors or a solid-fuel boiler can be connected.

The controller is equipped with current sensors for the main fuse, so it is able to reduce immediately the power drawn for heating. Thanks to this fact, the controller will prevent the main fuse tripping, e.g. when an electric stove or a water well pump starts, however, this short heating interruption will not affect your home comfort in any way. This function enables that electricity is used for heating even in houses with a low-sized main fuse.

EcoHeat is a domestic central heating unit with an integrated ground-coupled EcoPart heat pump

The central heating unit involves everything a domestic boiler room may contain. After being easily connected to a heating system and water mains, the unit covers the complete heat demand of a single-family house - heating, heating-water accumulation, heating sanitary water by a heat pump and the integrated 9kW electric heating rod. Of course, also solar collectors, a wood-fired boiler, a fireplace heat exchanger or other heat sources can be connected as well. This compact solution excels with its extra low heat loss and occupies a little space.

The central heating unit contains a control board that controls heating in the house, heating of DHW, heat pump operation, and switches output steps of the heating rod. Heating is controlled by OTC using both the outdoor and indoor sensors that are included in the packing. Heating water is mixed by the integrated 4-way valve.

The unit is divided into 2 sections - a lower zone for preheating DHW and heating water, and an upper zone for DHW afterheating. The heat pump is connected to the lower cooler section, working thus at lower temperatures for most of the time, just from time to time it heats up the upper section to a higher temperature sufficient for DHW. The electric heating rod in the upper zone is then used only for afterheating DHW to the set temperature. The controller connects the el. heating rod gradually, in small steps (1,5 kW), in order to reach a precise temperature and max. savings.

In order to avoid the main fuse tripping (esp. in houses where its value is low), the controller in EcoHeat measures continuously current in all the 3 phases of the main fuse and limits the power input when needed, the heating rod in 1.5kW
steps first, and after that even the heat pump. The current sensors (included in the EcoHeat packing) shall be installed on the mains supply (e.g. to the main fuse) and the value of the main fuse shall be set in the controller. This function enables using EcoHeat for heating even in houses with a low-value main fuse that would be otherwise unsuitable for operating an electric boiler and a heat pump.

EcoCool

EcoCool is designed to be installed together with EcoPart ground-source heat pumps or with an integrated heating unit containing EcoHeat ground-source heat pump. In the summer, cold from the bore can be used for cooling through underfloor heating systems or fan convectors (not for current domestic radiators). Either passive cooling is available, using the cold from the bore while the heat pump is off, or active cooling with a heat pump for a higher cooling output can be used. In both these cases the bore receives and stores heat for the next winter. Its integrated control unit communicates with a heat pump and EcoLogic Controller. The desired room temperature can be kept with max. use of passive cooling. It needs very little electric energy, namely for circulation pumps only, and reduces one's cooling expenses to minimum.

EcoCool

SMS module

SMS module is designed for remote communication with a heat pump using SMS text messages. With a plain SIM card inserted, the module can send you info concerning the heat pump and temperatures measured by the controller. You can change the room temperature, reset alarms etc. This SMS module connects either to an EcoLogic Controller or to integrated heating units with a built-in controller.
