Filtering Equipment

Field of Application

Filtering equipment is designed in particular for separation of radioactive aerosols, iodine and iodine compounds in the air-handling systems of nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities with the analogous type of operation. The equipment plays an important part in assurance of safety requirements both under standard and emergency and post-break-down conditions. The filtering equipment can be used both for the reconstruction of the existing air-handling technical systems of NPP and for the newly built nuclear power plants. Further possible field of application is the field of research, manufacturing and application of radioisotopes or in the field of nuclear medical science. The equipment fully meets more strict requirements of German and American standards for nuclear power plants.

Description of Filtering Equipment

The filtering equipment is designed of a modular type. The design of individual parts makes it possible to combine individual modular parts depending on:

• Required function of specified system of air-handling equipment in individual modes of operation
• Required degree of filtration of solid and liquid aerosols and radioactive gaseous impurities

• Separation efficiency min. 99,95 % for radioactive aerosols
• Separation efficiency min. 99,99 % for gaseous compounds of radioactive iodine
